Since 2000 the guild have held a yearly sewing retreat, usually in April or May for up to 30 ladies. We have been to Collaroy, Kangaroo Valley, Bundanoon and Meroo. For the last 5 years it has been held at Ferndale Conference Centre at Lower Portland which is in a beautiful quiet bushland setting. The owners are happy to help by unpacking your sewing machines and carrying them to the conference room. Also the home made food is to die for! You will also get to see “Andrew the Peacock” and his ladies.
You can come along for either 2 or 3 days (or part thereof) in either a single or shared log cabin. A program is distributed 2 months prior to the retreat and lists different projects which can be done. Otherwise you are welcome to come along and do your own projects. There is always something different to learn!
Next year we have booked from 15th to 18th March. Our theme will be Americana.
Here are photos of members and projects during these years. We have always had lots of laughs, especially with our Saturday night themed dinner dress up! There has been Outer Space, Africa, Japan, Garden, Roaring 20’s, Sleepwear, After 5, Hats, Masks and Floral to name but a few.
